Presidency of the Court
The President
The President of the Court directs the work and administration of the Court (Rule 9 of the Rules of Court).
He or she represents the Court and, in particular, is responsible for its relations with the authorities of the Council of Europe as well as the political and judicial authorities of the States Parties to the European Convention of Human Rights.
The President presides at plenary meetings of the Court, meetings of the Grand Chamber, meetings of the Grand Chamber panel of five judges and meetings of the Bureau.
The President is assisted by Bureau, the Registrar of the Court and by the President’s Private Office.
The President

The plenary Court elects its President for a period of three years (Rule 8 of the Rules of Court).

Official visits
Visit by a delegation of the Supreme Court of Slovenia
On 16 September 2024, a delegation from the Supreme Court of Slovenia, headed by its President, Miodrag Đorđević, and its Vice-President, Marjeta Švab Širok, paid a working visit to the Court and was received by the President of the Court, Marko Bošnjak. During the visit the delegation took part in roundtable discussions with judges of the Court and members of the Registry.

Meeting with the Minister of Justice of Slovenia
On 13 August 2024 the President of the Court, Marko Bošnjak, took part in a bilateral meeting with Andreja Katič, Minister of Justice of Slovenia, in Ljubljana. Milan Brglez, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, also attended the meeting.

On 13 August 2024 the President of the Court, Marko Bošnjak, took part in a bilateral meeting with Andreja Katič, Minister of Justice of Slovenia, in Ljubljana. Milan Brglez, State Secretary at the Ministry of Justice, also attended the meeting.
Events Presidency
On 11 September 2024, the President of the Court, Marko Bošnjak, attended the third annual rentrée of the French Conseil d’État, in Paris. He was accompanied by Mattias Guyomar, Section President and Judge elected in respect of France. On the side of the conference, they held a bilateral meeting with Didier-Roland Tabuteau, Vice-President of the Conseil d’État.
On 9 September 2024, the President of the Court, Marko Bošnjak, delivered a speech at the Biennial Conference of the European Chapter of the International Association of Refugee and Migration Judges (IARMJ-Europe), in Dublin (Ireland).
