Annual report and Overview of the Court's case-law 2025

The Annual Report, published since 2001, provides information on the Court’s organisation and activities. It contains a foreword by the President, a review of the year’s judicial activities, a summary of the Court’s recent procedural reforms, and statistical data and tables of violations of Articles of the Convention by member State. The Report also outlines the events that marked the year, including those related to the 75th anniversary of the Convention, and provides an update on the Court’s initiatives regarding knowledge sharing and visibility.

The Report is published along with a companion volume offering an overview of the Court’s case-law, highlighting the most significant cases of 2025 and their relevance in terms of case-law development. With its list of key cases, this overview deepens understanding of Convention jurisprudence. It also serves as a practical resource for national courts, which bear the primary responsibility for protecting the rights and freedoms defined in the Convention.
