On 27 November 2025, a seminar marking 15 years of the work of the Advisory Panel of Experts on Candidates for Election as Judge to the ECHR was held in Strasbourg. 

The President of the Court delivered opening remarks on the role and impact of the Panel, thanking its members for their work.

“By supporting this appointment process at every step, you contribute not only to the Court’s legitimacy and authority, but also to the social bliss that is justice,” said the Court President.

The Vice President of the Court and judge elected in respect of Montenegro, Ivana Jelić, spoke during the third thematic session of the seminar, providing insights on the way forward to enhance the election procedure and on the Advisory Panel’s evolving role.
