On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the European Convention on Human Rights and the 30th anniversary of the Human Rights Building, the ECHR will open its doors to the public on Sunday 21 September 2025.

This day will be an opportunity for visitors to discover the Human Rights Building, which was designed by British architect Richard Rogers and has received the French Remarkable Contemporary Architecture label.

In addition, the public will have the chance to see the original text of the European Convention on Human Rights signed by 12 member States of the Council of Europe, and to learn about its history, its importance, the fundamental rights and freedoms it protects, and its impact on people’s lives.

Visitors will also be able to learn more about how the Court functions, its field of activity, and the challenges it faces.

Pre-registration for the Court's Open Doors event is now closed. However, all visitors wishing to attend the event on 21 September are very welcome and may register on the spot. We look forward to seeing you!
