On 15 October 2025, the President of the Court, Mattias Guyomar, addressed the Council of Europe’s Committee of Ministers.
He outlined the three priorities of his three-year mandate, framed under the principle of “shared responsibility”: efficiency, visibility, and accountability – each constituting a foundational element of the Court’s legitimacy, and that of any judicial institution.
President Guyomar concluded his intervention by affirming that the Committee of Ministers can count on the Court to play its role and carry out its judicial functions fully independently, thereby helping to protect human rights.
