Court President hosts press breakfast on the occasion of the publication of the Annual Report

On 29 January 2026, the President of the Court, Mattias Guyomar, hosted a press breakfast for journalists based in Strasbourg and the surrounding region to discuss the main findings of the Court’s Annual Report, published today together with an overview of the Court’s case-law.
During the press breakfast, the President, the Registrar, Marialena Tsirli, and the Deputy Registrar, Abel Campos, engaged in an in depth exchange with journalists on the Annual Report, the Court’s work, and its achievements and challenges.
The Annual Report, along with the Overview of the Court’s case-law, is available on the Court’s website.
In addition, the Registrar and the Deputy Registrar have recorded short videos highlighting the key points of both documents, which are accessible on the Court’s website and across all its social media channels.
In parallel, the President has given in depth interviews to media outlets across Council of Europe member States to help ensure that a wider audience becomes familiar with the Court’s work and its contribution to the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms.
Throughout the year, the Court will also organise several events, including press engagements, as part of its broader efforts to strengthen its visibility and support legal education.
