As a specialised library, the Library of the European Court of Human Rights holds a sizeable collection of writings on human rights and on the European Convention on Human Rights acquired from 1966, when the Library was established, to the present.
- The Library serves the European Court of Human Rights and the Registry, that is, the research needs arising from the Court's judicial and publishing activities.
-
In responding to the various research demands the Library
of the Court develops its collection not only in the area of human rights,
but also in the fields of national case-law and legislation of the member
States, comparative law, and to a lesser extent constitutional and public
international law.
- Other user communities are also encouraged to consult and exploit the resources on offer in the Library.
- The Library staff are committed to making access to the collection as user-friendly as possible.
