In the case of I.M. v. France, the Court held that there had been a violation of the Convention. The case concerned the risks the applicant would face in the event of his deportation to Sudan and the effectiveness of the remedies available to him in France in view of the fact that his asylum application was dealt with under the fast-track procedure.

Grand Chamber
Forthcoming Grand Chamber judgments

The Court will be delivering two Grand Chamber judgments, in the cases of Axel Springer AG v. Germany and Von Hannover v. Germany (no. 2), on Tuesday 7 February 2012. Both cases concern the publication in the media of articles and, in the second case, of photos depicting the private life of well-known people.

On 30 January 2012 Sir Nicolas Bratza, President of the Court, received a delegation of German Parliamentarians for a working meeting. During the visit the delegation also met Judges of the Court.
Visit by the President of the Constitutional Court of Italy

On 26 January 2012, Alfonso Quaranta, President of the Constitutional Court of Italy, visited the Court and was received by Sir Nicolas Bratza, President of the Court. Guido Raimondi, the judge elected in respect of Italy, and Erik Fribergh, Registrar, also attended the meeting.

On 24 January 2012 the Rt. Hon. David Lidington, MP, Minister for Europe, Foreign and Commonwealth Office of the United Kingdom, visited the Court and was received by Sir Nicolas Bratza, President of the Court. Erik Fribergh, Registrar, also attended the meeting.

On 23 January 2012 Sir Nicolas Bratza, President of the Court, received a delegation from the Federal Constitutional Court of Germany led by his President, Andreas Voßkuhle, for a working meeting. During the visit the delegation met Judges of the Court and members of the Registry.
