Inadmissibility decision

The Court has declared inadmissible the case of Ellis and Simms and Martin v. the United Kingdom. The case concerned the applicants’ complaints that they had been convicted in an unfair trial as a result of the decision to allow an anonymous witness’ evidence against them.

Judgment concerning the Katyń massacre

16/04/2012

Janowiec Delivery In the case Janowiec and Others v. Russia, the Court found that it could not examine the applicants’ complaint about the ineffective investigation into the Katyń massacre. However, it held that Russia had failed to cooperate with the Court, and that its response to most victims’ relatives’ attempts to find out the truth about what happened in 1940 had amounted to inhuman treatment.
