Reports of Judgments and Decisions

Note on the composition of the Reports of Judgments and Decisions

The Court has recently revised its policy regarding publication of the Reports of Judgments and Decisions with a view to concentrating on only a core of the most important judgments and decisions.

To this end, a new selection of judgments and decisions has been made by the Court’s Jurisconsult* for the period 2007-11. This selection, which has been approved by the Bureau**, replaces that initially made by the Publications Committee.

Details of all future selections will be communicated when they become available. The most recent selection available is for the first quarter of 2012.

The lists published on the Court’s website, notably the alphabetical and chronological lists, are being amended accordingly.

The composition of the Reports for the years 1999 to 2006 inclusive remains unchanged.

Publication of the Court's cases

Until 1998 all judgments and decisions were published in "Series A", then in the "Reports of Judgments and Decisions". Since the new Court came into being in 1998, a selection of judgments and decisions given by the Court, sometimes in the form of extracts, is published in the "Reports of Judgments and Decisions".
