Dialogue between Courts
The European Court finds it particularly important to maintain a close dialogue with the apex courts of the member States and with other international human rights courts.
Superior Courts Network
Since its official launch in 2015, the Superior Courts Network has been pursuing its general aim of fostering such dialogue and thereby improving the implementation of the Convention. The operational aim of the Network is also to provide a practical and useful forum for an exchange of information on Convention case-law and related themes.
Regional Human Rights Courts
By signing the San José Declaration on 18 July 2018, the Presidents of the African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights, the European Court of Human Rights and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights set up a Permanent Forum of Institutional Dialogue between the three courts.
