Judgments and decisions
Reports of Judgments and Decisions
The Reports of Judgments and Decisions (cited in the case-law as ECHR and available in Hudoc under the importance level ‘Case Reports’) is an official collection of the Court's leading judgments, decisions and advisory opinions since 1998. The selection of the most important cases is made by the Bureau* following a proposal by the Jurisconsult**.
Each volume contains a series of cases or extracts of cases, classified by Articles, keywords and key notions, preceded by a headnote and a summary, in English and French.
The contents of each volume can be found in the relevant index. A cumulative index 1999-2014 is also available.
Reports case selection:
* The Bureau is composed of the President and Vice-Presidents of the Court and of the Section Presidents.
** The Jurisconsult is responsible for case-law monitoring and plays a key role in preventing case-law conflicts.
The Reports are available in PDF format. Currently, volumes are available from 1999 to 2014. Other materials will become available shortly. Users wishing to search for individual cases selected in the Reports are invited to use the HUDOC database.
